Yesterday, I discovered the Food Co. in the Mission. Food Co. compares their prices to that of Safeway. I used to go to Pete's in Chicago. Food Co. is very similar.
The prices are good to great for many basic items. The selection is very good. For example, a rotisserie chicken cost $4.99, a 18 ounce of Kraft BBQ sauce is $0.98, and hot dogs are any where from $0.98 to $3.99, depending on which brand.
In addition, there are Manager Specials! Food Co. is very close to Best Buy, Sports Basement, Office Max and the Potrero Center. There is plenty of parking too. Check them out! www.foodsco.net.
